Working to Minimise Our Impact

Hear from CEO, Koreen Fader, and our passionate team members as they share some of the work QVC UK is doing to help achieve a smaller carbon footprint, such as installing a large solar panel system, continuing with our zero waste to landfill policy and using more recycled packaging.

Our Corporate Responsibility Strategy

As part of Qurate Retail Group's Responsibility Strategy , we're focusing on three areas where we can have the most impact.

Protecting our Environment

At QVC UK, we're committed to sourcing and selling products in a way that helps protect our environment. Our impact can inspire positive change across the industry, ensuring that when we get it right, both our planet and its people benefit.

We are continuing to execute against our commitments across our parent company Qurate Retail. For example, we are upping our ambition to help protect the environment by announcing a new goal to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 50% by 2030. In 2022, we far outplaced our 14% reduction, and we are proud to report that we achieved 26% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions.

Identifying more sustainable alternatives to plastic and non-recyclable packaging is a critical opportunity for us given our scale and sheer reach. Despite an absence of a scalable alternative, we have committed to a phased approach toward full recyclability with a few key priorities. For example, introducing Diamonique jewellery boxes made from 100% recycled/recyclable card.

Being waste smart means minimising waste and maximising efficiency to help conserve natural resources such as energy, water and materials. QVC UK has already started on this journey by being ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ at both our headquarters and contact and fulfilment centre locations, to incrementally reduce and ultimately eliminate waste wherever possible.
